Since 1983, Vacuum Supermarket has been a specialty floor care store on Lonsdale Avenue in North Vancouver. We carry a focused selection of machines from brands we stand behind — Miele, SEBO, Henry, Hatty, James, Air stream, Sirrocco, and MVac central vacuum systems. All of them repairable. We keep parts, and when something goes wrong, we fix it here.

Corded Canister: The motor and bag sit in a wheeled unit; you guide a lightweight wand. Best combination of suction, filtration, and floor versatility. Miele's & SEBO's canister lineup are our most requested category. If anyone in your home has allergies, the sealed bag system makes a real difference. And Henry, Hatty, and James from Numatic are British workhorses that have been in production since the 1980s.

Cordless Stick: Grab-and-go, no cord, easy to store. Miele's Triflex series & SEBO's & Air Stream's are our most popular cordless. Ideal for condos, apartments, or quick daily pickups between deeper cleans.

Corded Upright: SEBO is German-made, quieter than most uprights, and built for heavy carpet and commercial use. Simple, reliable, and easy to service long after other brands would ask you to replace.

Should I buy a bagged or bagless vacuum? For most households — especially with pets or allergies — bagged is the better choice. Consistent suction, cleaner bag changes, better dust containment. Bagless is fine for quick daily cleanups on hard floors, but for a whole-home machine, bagged holds the advantage.

Canister, upright, or cordless stick — which should I get? They're different tools. Canister for mixed floors and filtration. Upright for heavy carpet. Cordless stick for speed and convenience. If your home has carpet upstairs and hardwood down, one type probably won't fully replace the other.

How long should a vacuum last, and is it worth repairing? The machines we carry are built for 15 to 20 years with regular maintenance. A service call here often extends a machine's life by five or more years at a fraction of replacement cost. The vacuums we sell are worth fixing, and we stock parts for everything we carry.
